When looking for a company that has shifted its main goal and business priorities I came upon the curious case of Philips. This is a company that started off as a radio repair company then focused on shavers then to television and other electronics throughout the mid-to-late 20th century. But in the mid-2000s, they began to heavily lean into the science of healthcare, with the company spinning off their electrics division into its own company.

I’m scared.

As someone who has solely studied the scientific arts, I am terrified of marketing and the business world in general. It is this expansive world that just doesn’t speak to me the same way biology does filled with dollar signs and high rises. We just don’t speak the same langauge.

That being said I am excited to learn more about something I have no idea about!!!
